The BuildMyPOD theme includes a Sale tag that can be displayed on product cards whenever a product has a Compare-at Price set in Shopify.

This article explains how to enable the Sale tag in the theme and configure your products so the tag appears correctly.

Step 1: Enable the Sale Tag in the Theme

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store and click Edit Theme on your active BuildMyPOD theme.

In the theme editor, click the Theme Settings (gear icon).

3. Open the BMP: Product Labels section and enable the Show Sale Tag option.

4. Save the theme.

Once enabled, the theme will display a Sale tag on eligible product cards.

You can also customize the sale label text, background color, and text color in the BMP product labels settings.

Step 2: Set the Compare-at Price

The Sale tag only appears when a product has both a Price and a Compare-at Price, with the Compare-at Price being higher than the current selling price.

You have two options for setting this up:

• Use Shopify's built-in Compare-at Price feature
• Use a bulk editing app such as Hextom if you need to update many products at once.

Set the Compare-at Price in Shopify for an Individual Product

Go to Products in your Shopify admin and open the product you want to edit.

Scroll down to the Variants section and check the top checkbox to select all variants at once.

3. Click Bulk edit that appears after selecting.

4. This opens a table view where you can set the Compare-at price for all variants at once.

6. Fill in the compare-at prices and save.

Go to Products in your Shopify admin.

2. Check the top checkbox to select all products on the page at once and click Bulk edit that appears after selecting.

Step 3: Verify the Sale Tag

After you've enabled the Sale tag in the theme and configured your Compare-at Prices, the Sale badge will automatically appear on eligible product cards and product media.

Important Note

The Sale tag is only displayed on product cards and the product media.

On the product page, customers will see the Compare-at Price (the crossed-out original price), but the Sale badge itself is only displayed on the product media.
