Is the connection with Printify optional?

No, the connection with Printify is required to complete your BuildMyPOD store setup.

Printify is the platform that powers your product catalog, handles fulfillment, and syncs your designs with Shopify. Without connecting to Printify, your store won’t receive the 20 pre-loaded products or be able to process orders properly.

However, after the store is set up through BuildMyPOD, you can remove the Printify app and connect with a different print provider if you wish.

Disclaimer

If you choose to connect your store to a different print provider, you would need to manually handle stock and fulfillment for the products that BuildMyPOD published. A different provider will not recognize the existing products in your store.
